1. Who we are
Map Metra is a product and trading name operated by Arasep Projects Pty Ltd (Arasep, we, us or our). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, create an account, take a trial or use the Map Metra service (the Service).
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and other privacy laws that apply to us.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information you give us — such as your name, email address, password, company, country, state/region, suburb and phone number.
Billing information — subscription plan, transaction records and billing contact details. Card payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
Project content you upload or create — including drawings, documents, spreadsheets, rates, measurements, quantities and estimates. This content may incidentally contain personal information about you or third parties that you choose to include.
Inputs to AI features — the prompts, drawings, documents and screenshots you submit to the in-app assistant or automated build features so they can generate a response.
Usage, device and log information — such as pages viewed, actions taken, IP address, browser and device type, and diagnostic logs, collected to operate, secure and improve the Service.
Support communications — the content of messages you send us.
3. How we use personal information
To create and administer your account, provide, maintain, secure and support the Service, and process payments and subscriptions.
To respond to enquiries, send service, security and billing communications, and (where permitted) occasional product updates you can opt out of.
To detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse, security incidents and technical issues, and to comply with our legal obligations.
To create aggregated or de-identified analytics that do not reasonably identify you or your clients, and to use those analytics to operate and improve the Service.
4. Disclosure to service providers
We use trusted third parties to run the Service and disclose personal information to them only as needed to provide it. These include cloud hosting, database and file-storage providers; our authentication provider; our payment provider; mapping and aerial-imagery providers; an artificial-intelligence provider that powers the AI features; and email, captcha/anti-abuse and analytics providers.
Some of these providers, and their infrastructure, may be located or store data outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own marketing.
5. AI features
When you use the assistant or automated build features, the inputs you provide are transmitted to our AI provider to generate a response. You should not submit information to the AI features that you are not permitted to share, and you remain responsible for reviewing all AI-generated outputs before relying on them.
6. Your content
You retain ownership of the drawings, documents, rates and estimates you upload or create. We access and process that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support and improve the Service, as set out in our Terms & Conditions.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to sign you in, keep your session secure, remember preferences and understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling some may affect how the Service works.
8. Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes, after which we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it. You are responsible for exporting any records you need before your subscription ends.
9. Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity, and in limited cases the law allows us to decline a request, in which case we will explain why.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the APPs, please contact us and we will investigate and respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
11. Children
The Service is intended for business and professional use and is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time for legal, security, operational or product reasons. We will post the updated version here and update the date below. Material changes will be notified where reasonably practicable.
