Estimating and AI
Software that helps you measure quantities, price them and present a tender. Map Metra covers the whole path: aerial and plan takeoff, Bill of Quantities, Work Breakdown Structure and estimate, construction program, project summary and tender documents, all in one browser-based project.
A Bill of Quantities lists what is being built and how much of it — the measured quantities. An estimate prices that work: it applies labour, material, equipment and subcontract rates, waste, contingency, margin and tax to arrive at a selling price. In Map Metra the BOQ holds your measured quantities and the WBS and Estimate tabs price them.
AI can do much of the groundwork. Map Metra's AI can name and scale uploaded drawings, draft an estimate structure from your scope documents, assist with takeoff, build a program and draft tender sections. Every result is saved as normal project data that you review and adjust; your professional judgement still sets the final price.
No. Builders, subcontractors and project managers use it too. The tools follow a familiar measure-then-price workflow, and the built-in assistants can help set up a project. Pricing experience helps you judge the result, as with any estimate.
Yes. AI plan setup names and scales drawings, and each tab has an assistant that can create, edit and price rows, take off from plans and draft tender content inside that tab. AI tasks use AI credit, which is deducted when a task runs.
You can't sign in to Map Metra with your own Claude or ChatGPT account, but you can use your own subscription: copy a ready-made workflow prompt from Map Metra's Prompt Library and use it with the assistant's browser extension alongside your project documents.
Yes. The Map plan gives you Free Aerial Measure on its own — areas, lengths, perimeters and counts on aerial imagery, legal parcel boundaries, markup tools and PDF/Excel export — without the takeoff and estimating suite.
Always. AI works through the same tools you use, so every measurement, row, rate and tender page it creates can be edited, undone or deleted, and you can stop an assistant at any time.
